Girls Arise Uganda

Girls Arise Uganda is a charity based in the Tororo district, Uganda with the aim to provide girls with sanitary products and education.

Over the past 3 years, they have so far distributed 1600 reusable pads, enabling girls to attend school without disruptions. They have also provided over 2000 girls with sex education, allowing them to have agency over their bodies.

Girls Sussed have partnered with Girls Arise in order raise funds to provide even more girls with Afripads and keep them in school

Girls Arise Uganda has many future plans, including beginning the production of reusable sanitary pads in the Tororo district. By teaching girls in the area sewing skills in order to do this, it will allow for the girls to be able to support themselves by earning money and creating economic independence.

They are also hoping to teach girls in the area other skills such as tailoring, weaving, hair braiding and more in order to increase the likelihood of self-employment and self-sustainability. The hope for this project will be to reduce inequality and poverty.

The cost of providing girls with a reusable pad kit from Afripads is just 5USD.  They pads should last a girl for a whole year at least.
